Description of the CONGAPAD®

Congapad front view Congapad side view Congpad underside

A CONGAPAD is a new musical instrument for drumming with hands. The body is turned from hardwood. The playing surface is covered with goatskin and the edge is rounded to make it hand-friendly. The rebound of the drum surface is roughly equivalent to a stretched conga skin.

On the side there is a ¼" locking jack socket from Neutrik. On the underside there are 3 hook velcro points for mounting on a studio table or other plate. The corresponding fleece velcro points are included in the delivery.

We produce 3 different CONGAPAD models, which differ in size, complex sound and the recommended equipment to be connected to reproduce the sound.

Important:
All CONGAPADs are built to be played with the hands.

CONGAPAD® models

CONGAPAD small
The small CONGAPAD was developed for use with drum modules or drum-to-midi converters. Analogue drum modules or new drum modules for modular systems (Eurorack) can be used. It is possible to play bass lines or melodies with several pads as well, which considerably expands the drummer's possibilities.

CONGAPAD large
The large CONGAPAD can be connected directly to an amplifier or a mixing console with a standard jack cable. Drum-like sounds can be played analogue, latency-free and without threshold. In the middle of the head, the sound is, as usual, deeper than at the edge. You can also use effect pedals, e.g. "Reverb" or "Delay".
The amplifier should have a linear frequency response, such as keyboard amplifiers or a P. A.
Guitar amplifiers are not well suited.
